Whew! I'm not sure where they day went, but it flew by! We started our day by making hundredth day crown during math. We used this lesson to reinforce the place value concepts we've been learning. We know that 10 sticks or longs= 100 so we used 10 strips on our crowns to represent this. We also know that 100 cubes or ones =100 so we added 10 items to each strip to make 100. As we worked through making our crowns, we would stop, count how many we had after completing a 10 and then we would figure out the difference from a 100 to find out how many more we still needed to make. The kiddos did a really great job at this and started to better grasp the idea of difference.
