Comparing teen numbers

Today in math we worked on comparing teen numbers. Partners used 10 frames to build 2 different teen numbers and then discussed which number was larger and how they knew. Through this activity we are building our number sense in a concrete way which will be a great foundation for bigger concepts this year.

On another note, I hope you are beginning to see your child adjust to being back in school and that their normal happy self is beginning to shine through. The first several weeks of first grade can be very exhausting and although we are having fun as we learn, we are right in the middle of the state mandated PALS testing which is given to all 4K-1st grade students. This testing will be going on at various times throughout our day this week and next. You can help out by please helping your child to get a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast in the morning.
As always, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Have a great week and be sure to check back soon for more updates and pictures from our class.
