Harvest of the Month- Apples! Mmmmmm good!

Today we had a special presentation by the Farm to School Initiative. Each month Ashley will be coming in to talk about a "Harvest of the Month" This month we learned about apples. We learned about the life cycle of the apple and even got to sample 2 different varieties of apples. 

Did you know that it takes 4-5 years for an apple tree to have its first crop? We also found out that a 200 year old apple tree can still produce apples. WOW!
