Working with 3D shapes

This week in math we have been focusing on 3D shapes. We've learned about cones, cylinders, spheres, rectangular prisms, cubes and pyramids. We learned about each of their characteristics including their how many faces and what kind of faces (curved or flat) if they have any vertices, and what 2D shape makes up the bases. On Friday we had fun going to 3 different 3D math stations where we got to create using 3D shapes as well as trying to build 3D shapes ourselves out of clay and also straws and twisties.
