Where in the world?

Today we utilized our map skills in an authentic way. We Skype'd with another 1st grade class somewhere in the world. We had to ask map questions to decide which state they were from and we had to do it in 20 questions or less. We asked questions such as "Are you on the east coast?", "Do you live in the southern US?", "Does your state border the Gulf of Mexico?" We were able to figure it out in 5 questions! Mrs Nelson's class was from Austin, TX.
