Bubble Day!

Well the countdown is on and we had Blast today for bubble day. We did lots of learning today but centered it around bubbles. We read Bubble Bubble by Mercer Mayer and Bubble Factory byTomie dePaola. Ask your child to make a text to text or a text to self connection with either of these two stories.
We did some bubble math and even wrote bubble poems. The poems turned out fantastic! We will be taking them into the computer lab at some point this week or early next week to to type them into a site called Wordle which will give them a bit of a different look than a traditional poem.
Of course the part of our day that everyone was excited for was the bubble blowing. Despite the cold and dreary weather, we headed out for about 15 minutes and blew bubbles. We tried making big bubbles and small bubbles as well as multiple bubbles stuck together. We even used similes to describe our bubbles... that one was as a small as a marble or that one was as big as a baseball. I wish I had some pictures to share, but I too was busy blowing bubbles with the kiddos.
DOn't forget your crazy socks on Wed and your Drink for THursday.
