Happy Groundhog's Day

February 2nd and Jimmy the groundhog has decided that we will have an early spring as he did NOT see his shadow.... funny thing, I'm not sure how we can have an early spring seeing as we really haven't even had winter yet! Despite that small technicality, we have been learning about groundhogs over the past couple of days. Ask your child to tell you the 3 names for a groundhog or about their burrows. Did you know that groundhogs whistle?

We also connected with our Skype buddies in Sachse, Texas today. We found out that they have 19 kiddos in their class which we figured out to be 4 more than our class. We also found out that they recently got 4 iPod Touches for their classroom so they asked us what some of our favorite apps were. We told them that our top 3 right now are: Math Ninja, Teach Me 1st Grade, and  ABC ya math and word bingo. We also went on Google Earth to get a better idea of where they live in comparison to us. We're excited to connect again and spend some time getting to know each other.
