Space Men and Penny Partners

This week we read a story called,Purple, Green and Yellow by one of  my favorite authors, Robert Munsch. Ask your child to tell you a bit about it. It was very silly! After reading the story we wrote about what our favorite part was. As part of our writing, we discussed how good writers remember to use spaces between their words. To help us remember this, each of us got a SPACE man to use as we wrote.
In math, we have been working on number concepts and one more/one less. We learned about partner expectations: Guide, check, and praise and played a partner game with our pennies. We will be playing many math games this year to help reinforce math skills and concepts in a fun and engaging way. We are also working on our number writing. If your child has difficulty with writing numbers or reversals of their numbers, please take a bit of time to work with them at home this week. We will have reviewed and practiced numbers 1-6 by the end of this week.
