Happy Groundhog Day and
6 more weeks of winter!
We spent some time today learning a little bit about groundhogs and the history behind the day. Did you know that groundhogs live in burrows? Did you know that there burrows have different rooms- many of which are similar to rooms in our homes, including a kitchen, bedroom and yes, even a bathroom! We also used our iPads to find images of groundhogs so we could see what they looked like. We used the site Pics4Learning which is on the side bar to your right if you'd like to check it out. This site has copyright free, educational appropriate images. After finding images of groundhogs, we used those images to help us draw our own pics in our groundhog booklets. We'll be learning more about groundhogs as the week continues and will use that information as a springboard to our first informational writing piece.
